Exhibition Alvar Aalto – Art and the Modern Form at Ateneum until 24 September

Come and explore the versatility of Alvar Aalto! See the iconic designs, such as the Savoy vase and the Paimio chair, and dive into the internationally famous architecture through photographs and short films.

Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) was a fully-fledged cosmopolitan. The exhibition also features visual art by artists closest to Aalto, such as the American Alexander Calder and the Frenchman Fernand Léger. There are also rarely seen artworks from the Villa Mairea residence. Find out how visual art affected Aalto’s extensive oeuvre!
